, the Maunalua Bay Reef Restoration Project hosted a celebration to celebrate the completion of the project. The $3.4 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project to restore reefs in Maunalua Bay has reached a milestone: 23 acres of the bay have been cleared of invasive algae, and this work was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

The Nature Conservancy and Rayonier today announced the sale of 3,088 acres along the Clearwater River in Jefferson County near the Washington coast. The Conservancy is purchasing a corridor along the river about 11 miles long and about a mile wide, with the goal of bringing salmon back to historical levels of abundance.
