CFPA will have its tenth annual Peace is Patriotic event at the “profoundly peaceful” Pennsbury Manor in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. The Pennsbury Manor is a painstaking reconstruction of the original estate of William Penn, a Quaker who was the founder and namesake of the state of Pennsylvania.

The event starts with a BYO Picnic (please note: no alcohol is permitted) at 12:30 pm at Pennsbury Manor’s Pavilion. In the case of rain, there will be no picnic; only the Program below will take place.

From 1:30 to 3:00 pm there will be an Program in the air-conditioned Pennsbury Manor Visitor’s Center. The Program will include Poetry by Chris Bursk and Sing-Along Peace Songs led by C.J. Fitts with Guitar by Rob Deckhart.

As part of the Program, the patriotic peace leaders below will be presented with the CFPA’s Patriot for Peace Award:

  • US Senator Bob Casey – Member of Senate Foreign Relations Committee
who is Champion for steps toward the global abolition of nuclear weapons
  • Jesse Hamilton – Iraq War veteran, peace activist, and recipient of the bronze star
  • Rev. Bob Moore – beginning his 30th year as Executive Director of CFPA
  • Doris Seldin – one of the original founders of The Committee for a SANE Nuclear Policy
  • Barbara Simmons – Executive Director of The Peace Center, in Langhorne, PA

Pennsbury Manor will be open from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM that day. Guided tours that don’t conflict with the Peace is Patriotic event are available at 10:00 and 11:30 AM, and 3:30 PM
