Film Festival To Raise Money for Academy and Greener Partners

On Sunday, November 15, the Academy of Natural Sciences’ Center for Environmental Policy is joining forces with Greener Partners to sponsor the First Annual Sustainability Film Festival. The Festival will run from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the $35 admission includes a selection of great short films from the Patagonia Wild and Scenic Collection, as well as refreshments and live music. There will also be raffles with prizes to fit the tastes of those interested in a sustainable environment.

Funds raised from this event will go to support the Academy’s Center for Environmental Policy, including our popular public science programs like Town Square, as well as our collaborators at Greener Partners, who are working hard to increase sustainable agriculture within the Greater Philadelphia region.

In the past five years, the Academy of Natural Sciences has presented more than one hundred Town Square programs, including the influential Urban Sustainability Forum. Through speakers, panelists and films, we have fostered lively and engaging discussions on critical environmental issues that deeply affect our city and the world.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, these events have always been free of charge and open to the public; we intend to continue this practice. All of you who have enjoyed Town Square know how important it is for these programs to be available to the widest possible audience. Your attendance on November 15 will help us continue this service to our community. We hope to see you there!
