I would like to invite you to a seminar that I will be hosting on June 11th at Coopertown Elementary School. Homeowners and small-business owners will have the opportunity to learn more about several new state programs offering financial assistance for energy efficiency and green-energy upgrades and building projects.
Investments in clean energy not only help residents save money in the long run, but they also are good for the state’s economy and good for businesses’ bottom line. Several programs have been created by the state to help families and business owners meet the up-front costs of making their homes and businesses more energy efficient so they can enjoy the benefits of cleaner and less expensive energy in the long term. This seminar is designed for residents and small-business owners that are interested in securing new state funding for installing solar technology, improving energy efficiency and constructing high-performance “green” buildings.
The seminar will feature presentations by Dan Griffiths, director of energy technology and deployment at the state Department of Environmental Protection; Dan Garofalo, chairman of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council; and Jeff Gatter, senior vice president at AFC First Financial. They will be discussing the guidelines and application process for the Pennsylvania Sunshine Solar Program, the Keystone HELP Residential Energy Efficiency Program and the High Performance Green Building Program.
The Pennsylvania Sunshine Solar Program offers rebates to homeowners and small businesses on a portion of the cost of purchasing and installing solar electric and hot water systems in their homes and businesses. The Keystone HELP Program offers rebates and low-cost financing for residential energy-efficiency projects and whole-house improvements. The High Performance Green Building Program offers grants and loans to families and businesses constructing or renovating buildings that meet certain energy-efficiency and sustainability standards.
Reservations are not necessary to attend the June 11 seminar. For more information, contact Christina in my local office at 610-789-3900 or at cdipasqu@pahouse.net.
