The next SSAP meeting will take place after be the inauguration so we can ponder future action together. The sustainability situation has changed dramatically since we held the first conference in 1990, and SSAP shouldn’t just continue doing the same things because we know how. Back then, the important action was to get people to hear the word “sustainability”, and understand the concept. Today, it seems the next step is get a larger movement organized locally; somewhere between top-down government action and individuals living “green”, with low carbon footprints.
Now, how can SSAP help this to come about? That’s why it is essential for anybody concerned about sustainability to attend. We have invited some Delaware County environmental activists to attend this meeting. Their experience in creating local sustainability should both inspire us, in leading local groups, and help SSAP change the general American culture. We also expect to have the Rev. Tung, a Presbyterian minister, to help us understand the role of religion in social change. We might have a sociologist, also.
RSVP – Please let us know if you can come.
In case of weather cancellation, we will phone or email.
