Economic Crisis Conversation

October 25, 2008
4:00 pmto5:00 pm

Coho/US will host a free telephone conversation about the Current Economic Crisis and how it impacts cohousing this Saturday, Oct 25 2008, (4 pm Eastern; 3 pm Central; 2 pm Mountain; 1 pm Pacific.)

PANELISTS: Joining the panel for a conversation about the current economic climate are prominent individuals in cohousing such as:

  • Developer Jim Leach, President of Wonderland Hill who lives at Silver Sage.
  • Coho/US’s President Rick Mockler who is vice president with CoHousing Partners and lives at Muir Commons.
  • They will be joined by Bob Bruegel who is the President of Support Financial, Inc. which has provided early stage bridge financing to cohousing projects for the past decade. Bob is a founding resident of Nyland Cohousing.
  • Another panelist is Catya Belfer-Shevett who is part of Mosaic Commons, which is completing construction in Berlin, MA and has a number of units for sale. Catya is a project manager and also serves as Coho/US’s webmaster.

Please add this event to any appropriate calendar and please email your community so that the members are aware of this opportunity.

The call is free to participants but the phone call itself isn’t a toll-free number. The call was scheduled on a Saturday so phone charges would be less, or if you call with a cell phone there are no phone charges. To control noise levels, the audience cannot be heard during the call but there is a process to send your questions.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CALL IN: To join the conversation, you would call 712-432-1001. When asked to do so, enter Attendee Access Code: 447552977#. Again, you will be able to hear the panelists’ discussion but you cannot be heard, so you don’t need to be concerned about controlling noise where you are.

The conversation will be recorded for later download in the Members Area of the Cohousing website.

Please join us as we build our common understanding of how the crisis is affecting cohousing and how some communities will survive or even turn this crisis into opportunity.
